IntelliDwell® is more than a series of hardware and software solutions for building automation. It is our belief in the distributed process approach. Each installation is composed of independent subsystems that work together to achieve the desired result. Not only does this allow for greater flexibility in design, but reduced maintenance and increased reliability.

We begin with basic elements involving X-10, LonWorks, and CEBus devices, and add integration with computer systems, telephone equipment, security & environmental monitoring, to name a few. As technology has advanced, our design team has been very successful at adding and upgrading ideas and equipment into systems.

The X-10 Standard

X-10 is a low cost standard for lighting controls. Developed in 1978, the X-10 project evolved into the first commercially available modules that could control lights and appliances through the power line wires. There is a simple addressing protocol which allows each unit in a common wiring environment to be identified individually with a maximum of 256 unique addresses.

LonWorks ® Technology

LonWorks® technology, developed by Echelon Corporation, is a complete platform for the design, implementation, and installation of sophisticated control networks. The purpose of the technology is to drive the intelligence resident in any system out to the individual devive level rather than in costly central processing units.

The CEBus Standard

CEBus is a standard proposed by the Electronic Industries Association. Released in 1992, CEBus is an open architecture set of specification documents which explain how to make products communicate through power line wires, low voltage twisted pairs, coax, infrared, RF, and fiber optics. The CEBus standard includes commands such as volume up, fast forward, rewind, pause, skip, and temperature up or down 1 degree.
